Engine Performance: System: Turbocharger: Operation: Compressor
Atmospheric air is drawn into the compressor through an inlet tube. The air is then discharged into the intake manifold where is mixes with the fuel and is then injected into the engine. As rotational speed of compressor increases, the pressure and density of the air/fuel mixture also increases, causing a greater volume of air/fuel mixture to the cylinders. The increased density and volume of the mixture results in increased power output from the engine.
