Power Module

Power module contains circuitry for providing power to ignition coil, fuel injectors and alternator field. Automatic Shutdown (ASD) Relay is energized by power module to activate fuel pump, ignition coil and parts of power module itself.

Power module does not receive direct signal from distributor. Logic module receives signal from distributor and tells power module to energize ASD relay. If no distributor signal is received by logic module, ASD relay will not be energized and power to fuel pump and ignition coil is cut off. Power module contains voltage converter which reduces battery voltage to constant 8-volt output to power logic module and distributor.
