Ignition System: Description

NOTE: Chrysler Motors Colt Vista use an Electronic Control Unit to control all ignition functions. For information on these ignition systems, see appropriate article in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS section.

Chrysler Motors and Mitsubishi models with turbocharged engines are equipped with Electronically Controlled Injection (ECI) system, which controls fuel injection and ignition timing retard. For testing see ESC IGNITOR TEST in this article.
