Vacuum Advance Distributor Specifications

  1. With engine at operating temperature, disconnect vacuum hose from distributor. Run engine at idle.
  2. Using an advance timing light, check ignition timing. Raise engine speed to specified RPM. Check ignition timing. See DISTRIBUTOR ADVANCE SPECIFICATIONS table.
  3. Connect a vacuum pump to distributor advance unit. With engine running at idle, apply specified vacuum to advance unit. Check ignition timing. See DISTRIBUTOR ADVANCE SPECIFICATIONS table.
