EGR Valve: Notes
- Remove EGR valve. Check for deposits or sticking. Clean as necessary to insure tight valve seat. Connect a hand vacuum pump to valve nipple. See Fig 1 . Plug second nipple (if equipped). Apply 19.4 in. Hg vacuum. Valve should hold vacuum.
- Apply 6.7 in. Hg vacuum. Blow through EGR passage. Air should pass. Reduce vacuum to 2.3 in. Hg or less. Blow through passage. Valve should not pass air.
