Fuel Control: Injectors

  1. Using a stethoscope, check operating sound of injectors. Only Black injector should operate during engine idle and cranking mode. Both Blue and Black injectors should operate during engine high speed mode. Ensure operation sound increases with engine speed.
  2. Remove large plastic air intake pipe. Disconnect secondary ignition cable from ignition coil. To check Black injector operation, look through air inlet of injection mixer while cranking engine. Unless fuel delivery is very poor, injector fuel delivery should be considered normal. Turn ignition off and ensure injector is not leaking.
  3. To check Blue injector, connect Black injector connector to Blue injector. While watching injector fuel delivery, crank engine. Unless fuel delivery is very poor, injector fuel delivery should be considered normal. Turn ignition off and ensure injector is not leaking.
  4. Disconnect injector wiring. Check resistance between injector terminals. Standard resistance is 2-3 ohms at 68°F (20°C) for each injector. If resistance is not to specification, replace injector.
