System Test

  1. Disconnect extension hose from secondary air cleaner. Place finger at end of extension hose to check for suction. Start engine. Let Idle. With coolant temperature between 104-140°F (40-60°C), suction should be felt.
  2. Run engine until coolant temperature is 158°F (70°C) or more. Let engine idle. There should be no suction. Bring engine to 4000 RPM and decelerate rapidly. Suction should be felt.
