Body Controller
Vehicle may be equipped with either a premium or base model body controller. Premium body controller is used on vehicles with either an electronic instrument cluster or Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). Base body control computer is used on vehicles with a mechanical instrument cluster and no EVIC.
The body control computer is located behind right side kick panel. It receives information from engine node and light outage module. Engine node is mounted to radiator support. It sends body control computer information regarding brake fluid, engine coolant and oil level. Light outage module is located behind glove box, near A/C blower resistor. Light outage module monitors exterior lights. If a headlight, side marker light or taillight fails, light outage module senses discrepancy and reports it to body control computer.
Body control computer also stores odometer information for electronic instrument cluster display and provides power and ground for a variety of systems. Systems are monitored by body control computer through voltage drops.
