Test 2 - Automatic Door Locks (W/O Keyless Entry System): Notes

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
  1. If vehicle is equipped with remote keyless entry system, perform TEST 3A . If vehicle is not equipped with remote keyless entry system, ensure left front window is down and all doors are closed. Remove key from ignition switch. Depress power door lock switch to LOCK position. If all doors lock, perform TEST 4A .
  2. If all door locks do not lock, turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off. Using DRB-II, actuate door lock test. If all doors lock, perform TEST 2B . If some doors lock, check wiring and door lock motor in doors that do not lock and repair as necessary. If no doors lock, put DRB-II in voltmeter mode.
  3. While door lock actuation test is running, backprobe terminal No. 21 (Orange/White wire) of body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right kick panel. If voltage is 0-10 volts, perform TEST 2C . If voltage is not 0-10 volts, stop door lock actuation test using DRB-II.
  4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body controller Black connector. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 21 (Orange/White wire) of body controller Black connector.
  5. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
