Test 14C - Left Front Door Jamb Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Turn ignition on (engine off). Using DRB-II, read left front door jamb switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN, go to step 5).
- If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT OPEN, disconnect left front door jamb switch. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN, replace left front door jamb switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT OPEN, turn ignition off.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. BCM is located behind right side kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Blue wire) of BCM Black connector.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II displayed CIRCUIT OPEN in step 1), disconnect left front door jamb switch. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Connect jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) of left front door jamb switch connector.
- If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace left front door jamb switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, connect jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire) of left front door jamb switch connector and ground. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, disconnect jumper wire. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. BCM is located behind right side kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
- If connector condition is okay, reconnect BCM Black connector. Connect jumper wire between terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Blue wire) of BCM Black connector and ground. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
