Test 15A - Electronic Instrument Cluster Diagnostics
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article. Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Turn ignition on. Using DRB-II, select ELECTRONIC CLUSTER module. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 94A . If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, turn ignition on (engine off).
- Using DRB-II, read electronic instrument cluster faults. If DRB-II displays 01 NO BUS ACTIVITY or 02 NO MESSAGE FROM BODY CONTROLLER, go to TEST 93A .
- If DRB-II displays 04 NO MESSAGE FROM ENGINE CONTROLLER, go to TEST 97A . If DRB-II displays 08 BUS LOOP FAILURE or 40 POWER SUPPLY SHORT CIRCUIT, replace electronic instrument cluster. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II displays 10 DISPLAY DRIVER CIRCUITRY FAILURE or 20 MICROCOMPUTER INTERNAL FAILURE, replace electronic instrument cluster. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II displays 80 BODY COMPUTER ODOMETER FAILURE, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right side kick panel. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II does not display any fault code, identify problem area(s) listed in ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEM table and perform the indicated test(s). Diagnosis of electronic instrument cluster is broken down into 8 areas.
