Test 3B - Diagnosing Lock Signal To Body Control Module

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at the end of this article.
  1. Using DRB-II, stop door lock actuation test. Remove key from ignition switch. Using DRB-II, read key in ignition switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, go to TEST 47A.
  2. If DRB-II did not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, put DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  3. Check voltage on terminal No. 4 (Orange/Violet wire) of BCM Black connector. While observing DRB-II, lock doors using left door lock switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is less than 10 volts, check door lock wiring and switch. Repair as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
