Test 3E - Automatic Door Locks With Remote Keyless Entry

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at the end of this article. Door lock/door unlock relay must remain in place when backprobing door lock/door unlock relay connector.
  1. Ensure DRB-II door lock actuation test is still active. Gain access to power door lock relays. Relays are located behind right side of glove box. See Figure . Backprobe Orange/White wire of door lock relay connector. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, repair open in Orange/White wire between Body Control Module (BCM) and door lock relay. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  2. If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, backprobe Black wire of door lock relay. If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, backprobe Red wire of door lock relay connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Red wire as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  3. If voltage is more than 10 volts, backprobe Orange/Black wire at door lock relay. Ensure DRB-II door lock actuation test is still active. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, go to TEST 3F. If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, remove door unlock relay. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  4. Check voltage of Pink/Black wire at door unlock relay connector. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, repair open Orange/Black or Pink/Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, use DRB-II to stop door lock actuation test. Turn ignition off.
  5. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Check resistance of Black wire of door unlock relay connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace door unlock relay. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
