Test 87A - Parking Light Output

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Turn parking lights on. If parking lights do not come on, repair headlight/parking light system as necessary. If park lights come on, turn ignition on and off. Disconnect Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) module. See Figure .
  2. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on terminal No. 21 (Pink/Red wire) of VTA module connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Red wire between VTA module and fuse No. 14. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  3. If voltage is more than 10 volts, with parking lights still on, check voltage on terminal No. 7 (Black/Yellow wire) of VTA module connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace VTA module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Black/Yellow wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
