Test 91A - Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Disconnect Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) module. See Figure . With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire) of VTA module connector. If voltage is less than one volt, replace VTA module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  2. If voltage is more than one volt, disconnect Remove Keyless Entry (RKE) module. Check voltage on terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire) of VTA module connector. If voltage is less than one volt, replace RKE module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is more than one volt, repair short to battery in Yellow wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
