Test 2A - Blank DRB-II Message Screen
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect DRB-II. Using an external voltmeter, check Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) data link connector positive battery circuit (Red wire) for voltage. Connector is located underneath dash at left side of steering column. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair positive battery circuit (Red wire) as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, turn ignition off. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between CCD data link connector ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire) and ground. If resistance is more than 20 ohms, repair open in ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is less than 20 ohms, try a different DRB-II adapter cable. If DRB-II screen is no longer blank, replace defective DRB-II adapter cable. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II screen is still blank, try a different DRB-II cartridge. If DRB-II screen is no longer blank, replace defective DRB-II cartridge. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II screen is still blank, replace defective DRB-II. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
