Test 7F - Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. If vehicle is not an AC or AY body, go to step 4). If vehicle is an AC or AY body, use external ohmmeter to check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and terminal No. 1, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
  2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 20, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and terminal No. 1, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Using external ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and terminal No. 22, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  5. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 20, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and terminal No. 22, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  6. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and terminal No. 23, seat belt light output circuit (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Dark Blue/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  7. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Black connector terminal No. 20, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and terminal No. 23, seat belt light output circuit (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Dark Blue/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  8. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM case and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair BCM case ground. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of BCM Black connector terminal No. 19, signal ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire).
  9. If resistance is more than 15 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
