Initialization & Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1993 Dodge Daytona and 1993 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

An initialization procedure, included in VTA system, requires that vehicle record 20 engine cranking cycles before allowing VTA module to function. For this reason, VTA system requires verification. To verify VTA system, perform the following: Open driver's door (all others closed). Remove ignition key. Lock doors with power door lock switch. Close driver's door. If VTA system SET light flashed (SECURITY light on AG and AJ bodies), system is armed and operational. If not, 20 engine cranking cycles have not occurred or there is a problem with VTA system. If SECURITY light (AG and AJ bodies) comes on and stays on with ignition on, the CCD bus communication with engine controller may have been lost.
