Test 110A - Wipers Operate In High Speed Only
NOTE:
Perform TEST 103A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Remove HI/LO wiper relay (relay No. 10) from Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located on left front fender apron. See Figure . Go to next step.
- Substitute a known-good relay. Turn wipers on and observe wiper operation. If wipers operate properly in low and high speeds, replace original HI/LO wiper relay. If wipers do not operate properly, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Remove substitute HI/LO wiper relay. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 18 (Violet wire) on BCM Bone connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Violet wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
