Test 156A - Repairing RKE Arm Function

NOTE: Perform TEST 141A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-3A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. If problem exists with disarm function, go to TEST 156B  . If problem exists with arm function, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector. See Figure . Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Go to next step.
  2. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "A" (Pink wire) on RKE module connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal "H" (Black wire) on RKE module connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "C" (Orange/White wire) on RKE module connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/White wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  5. Ensure all doors are closed. Connect jumper wire between terminals "A" (Pink wire) and "C" (Orange/White wire) on RKE module connector. If Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator light flashes, replace RKE module. If VTSS indicator light does not flash, remove jumper wire and go to next step.
  6. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "C" (Orange/White wire) on RKE module. While monitoring voltage, depress door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is less than 9 volts, repair open Orange/White wire. If voltage is more than 9 volts, replace body control module.
