Test 30A - Chime Inoperative At All Times

NOTE: Perform TEST 29A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal Identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on. Ensure all doors are closed. Using scan tool, actuate chime. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, stop actuating chime. Turn ignition off. Remove key from ignition switch. Turn headlights on and open left front door. If chime does not sound, go to TEST 31A  . If chime sounds, go to next step.
  3. Turn headlights off. Ensure left front seat belt is unfastened. Close left front door. Insert key in ignition switch. Turn ignition on. If chime does not sound, go to TEST 32A  . If chime sounds, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. If chime does not sound, go to TEST 33A  . If chime sounds, system is currently operating properly.
