Test 32A - Chime Inoperative With Seat Belt Unfastened

NOTE: Perform TEST 29A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal Identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure left front seat belt is unfastened and fully retracted. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to TEST 72A  . If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Fasten left front seat belt. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: OPEN, go to TEST 71A  . If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: OPEN, replace BCM.
