Test 42A - Right Rear Door Ajar Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 34A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect right rear door ajar switch connector. Check right rear door ajar switch connector ground strap for damage or go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between ground and Tan/Red wire on right rear door ajar switch connector. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace right rear door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 3 (Tan/Red wire) on BCM Gray connector. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, repair open Tan/Red wire. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM.
