Test 45A - Headlights Will Not Turn Off

NOTE: Perform TEST 44A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect headlight switch 8-pin connector from behind switch. If headlights go off, replace headlight switch. If headlights do not go off, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is located behind right kick panel. If headlights go off, replace BCM. If headlights do not go off, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect headlight time delay relay from junction block. See Fig 1 . Junction block is located behind end cover, on left side of instrument panel. If headlights do not go off, repair short to battery voltage in Light Green wire between fuse No. 5 and headlight switch. If headlights go off, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance of headlight delay relay connector terminal "E" (Red/Dark Blue wire). See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Dark Blue wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace headlight delay relay.
