Test 52A - Parking Lamps Will Not Turn Off
NOTE:
Perform TEST 47A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect headlight switch connector from behind switch. If parking lamps go out, replace headlight switch. If parking lamps do not go out, turn ignition off. Go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Gray connector. If parking lamps go out, replace BCM. If parking lamps do not go out, go to next step.
- Disconnect parking lamp relay. Parking lamp relay is located behind dash, below parking lamp switch. If parking lamps do not go out, repair short to battery voltage in Black/Yellow wire. If parking lamps go out, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal "A" (Light Blue wire) on parking lamp relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace parking lamp relay.
