Test 87A - Identifying Door Lock Problem

NOTE: Perform TEST 81A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Drive vehicle to update OTIS and perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
  1. If vehicle is equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module, go to TEST 95A  . To locate RKE module, see Figure . If vehicle is not equipped with RKE module, open front windows. Close all doors. Go to next step. 2) Lock and unlock both front doors at door lock switches. If doors fail to lock or unlock properly, perform appropriate test listed in TEST 87A DIAGNOSTIC DIRECTORY table. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step.

    All Doors Fail To Lock/Unlock From Any Switch TEST 88A 
    One Door Fails To Lock/Unlock From Any Switch TEST 89A 
    All Doors Fail To Lock/Unlock From One Switch TEST 90A 
    All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch TEST 91A 
    All Doors Fail To Lock From One Switch (1)
    All Doors Fail To Unlock From Any Switch TEST 92A 
    All Doors Fail To Unlock From One Switch (1)
    (1) Replace defective switch.
  2. Turn ignition off. Leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. Lock doors from any switch. If doors lock, go to TEST 93A  . If doors do not lock, go to next step.
  3. If vehicle is equipped with speed sensitive locks, drive vehicle with all doors closed. Reach a vehicle speed greater than 15 MPH. If doors do not lock, go to TEST 94A  . If doors lock, system is operating properly at this time.
