Test 48A - Repairing Courtesy Lamps
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR
IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using DRB, stop courtesy lamp actuation. Close left door. Using DRB, read left door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display LF DOOR AJAR : CLOSED, go to TEST 65A. If DRB displays LF DOOR AJAR : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Close right door. Using DRB, read right door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display RF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to TEST 66A. If DRB displays RF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Black connector terminal No. 25 (Yellow wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
