Test 73A - Compass/Temperature Module No Response

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Depress compass/temperature button 2 times. If compass/temperature module display is blank, go to TEST 55B. If compass/temperature module display is not blank, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect compass/temperature module connector. Check connector condition and clean or repair connector as necessary. Using an external ohmmeter, with DRB connected to DLC connector, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between compass/temperature module connector terminal No. 9 and DLC connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance of White/Black wire between compass/temperature module connector terminal No. 10 and DLC connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace compass/temperature module.
