Instrument Cluster Test 5D - Panel Lights Power Circuit
NOTE:
Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 5A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
Disconnect instrument cluster connectors. Ensure connectors are clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of instrument panel 10-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Orange/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Yellow wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, inspect instrument cluster lights and printed circuit board. If lights and printed circuit board are okay, replace Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC). If lights and printed circuit board are not okay, repair or replace as necessary.
