Test 7B - Bus Short To Battery
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
After each repair, perform TEST VER-1.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 44 (Orange/White wire) and No. 59 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Orange/White wire and Violet/Brown wire, Yellow wire and Black/Dark Blue wire, or Orange wire and Violet/Brown wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 44 (Orange/White wire) and No. 60 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Orange/White wire and White/Black wire, Yellow wire and White/Dark Blue wire, or Orange wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM.
