Test 142A - Repairing No Response Condition
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
in this article. Perform TEST VER-3A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
NOTE:
Perform TEST 141A
before proceeding with this test.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Inspect terminal No. 24 (Violet/Yellow wire) on BCM Black connector. If terminal No. 24 does not have a wire, vehicle is not equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). If terminal No. 24 has a wire, go to next step.
- Reconnect BCM connectors. Backprobe jumper wire between terminal No. 24 (Violet/Yellow wire) on BCM Black connector and ground. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, enable VTSS. If VTSS is not enabled, replace BCM. If VTSS is enabled, disconnect jumper wire and go to TEST 141A .
