Test 153A - Repairing VTSS Disarm Circuit (Left Door)
NOTE:
Perform TEST 141A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
in this article. Perform TEST VER-3A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, read disarm signal voltage. If scan tool displays VOLTAGE 0, go to TEST 153B . If scan tool does not display VOLTAGE 0, disconnect left front door key cylinder switch connector. Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. Go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire across door key cylinder switch connector terminals. Using scan tool, read disarm signal voltage. If scan tool displays VOLTAGE 0, replace left front door key cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display VOLTAGE 0, disconnect jumper wire and go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between terminal No. 2 (Light Green/Orange wire) on door key cylinder switch connector and ground. If scan tool displays VOLTAGE 0, repair open ground circuit (Black wire). If scan tool does not display VOLTAGE 0, disconnect jumper wire and go to next step.
- Backprobe jumper wire between terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Orange wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector and ground. If scan tool displays VOLTAGE 0, repair open Light Green/Orange wire. If scan tool does not display VOLTAGE 0, replace BCM.
