Test 38A - Open Courtesy Lamp Switch Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 34A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal Identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn courtesy lamp dash switch on. Using scan tool, read dome lamp switch status. If scan tool displays DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If scan tool does not display DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect headlight switch 8-pin connector from behind switch. Connect jumper wire between courtesy lamp switch 8-pin connector terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire). Using scan tool, read dome lamp switch status. If scan tool displays DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, replace courtesy lamp dash switch. If scan tool does not display DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between headlight switch 8-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. Using scan tool, read dome lamp switch status. If scan tool displays DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Access BCM connectors. Connect jumper wire between ground and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 11 (Yellow/Red wire). Using scan tool, read courtesy lamp switch status. If scan tool displays DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, repair open Yellow/Red wire. If scan tool does not display DOME LAMP SW: CLOSED, replace BCM.
