Test 134B - Bus Short To 5 Volts

  1. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector, terminals No. 59 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 61 (Violet/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Violet/White wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between PCM connector, terminals No. 60 (White/Black wire) and No. 61 (Violet/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Violet/White wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace PCM.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
