Test 134C - Bus Short To 5 Volts

  1. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between BCM Gray connector, terminal No. 13 (Light Green/Black wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Green/Black wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between BCM Gray connector, terminal No. 13 (Light Green/Black wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Green/Black wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between BCM Gray connector, terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Red wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Green/Red wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  4. Measure resistance between BCM Gray connector, terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Red wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Green/Red wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  5. Measure resistance between BCM Bone connector, terminals No. 20 (Light Blue wire) and No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Blue wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  6. Measure resistance between BCM Bone connector, terminals No. 20 (Light Blue wire) and No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
