Test 37A - Courtesy Lamp Inputs
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
- Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Ensure all doors are aligned correctly against switches. If doors are misaligned or misadjusted, align or adjust door(s) as necessary. Ensure courtesy lamp switch (located next to headlamp switch) is off. Ensure all doors are closed. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 39B . If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 40B . If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read courtesy lamp switch status. If scan tool displays COURTESY SW CLOSED, go to TEST 38B . If scan tool does not display COURTESY SW CLOSED, check if vehicle is equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. See Fig 1 . If vehicle is equipped with RKE module, go to step 6). If vehicle is not equipped with RKE module, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is located on behind right kick panel. If courtesy lamps go off, replace BCM. If courtesy lamps remain on, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RKE module connector. If courtesy lamps go off, replace RKE module. If courtesy lamps remain on, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Gray connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. If courtesy lamps go off, repair short to ground in White wire. If courtesy lamps remain on, go to next step.
- Disconnect BCM Bone connector. If courtesy lamps go off, replace BCM. If courtesy lamps remain on, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
