Modulator Assembly: Removal

  1. Center vehicle on hoist, or raise front of vehicle on jackstands. Disconnect and remove battery, battery tray and acid shield covering modulator assembly. Disconnect differential pressure switch (Delta "P" switch) connector from junction block. See Fig 1. Remove top modulator assembly bracket-to-fender shield mounting bolt.
  2. Remove 6 nuts attaching brakeline tube bundle to modulator. Remove brakelines from modulator as an assembly, and wire aside. Ensure tubes are not kinked. Raise vehicle on hoist. From under vehicle, disconnect modulator assembly 10-pin connector. Remove 4 remaining hydraulic tubes from modulator assembly.
  3. Remove modulator assembly bracket mounting bolt closest to junction block. Loosen, but DO NOT remove, bracket mounting bolt nearest radiator. Lower vehicle. Lift modulator assembly and bracket out of vehicle.

NOTE: Before installing modulator assembly, ensure 3 modulator assembly bushings are not damaged. If any bushing is damaged or deteriorated, replace all bushings.
