Pump/Motor Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
NOTE:
If scan tool displays MODULATOR CIRCUIT trouble code, perform TEST 9A before proceeding.
NOTE:
Step numbering sequence begins at this point. No test procedures have been omitted.
- Use scan tool to actuate pump/motor. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, with pump/motor relay connector connected, backprobe Brown/White wire at pump/motor relay connector. See Figure. If reading is continuously more than 9 volts, go to TEST 10E. If reading is not continuously more than 9 volts, go to next step.
- DO NOT stop pump/motor actuation. If pump/motor voltage is switching between zero and 9.5 volts, go to TEST 10B. If pump/motor voltage is not switching between zero and 9.5 volts, go to next step.
- Ensure pump/motor is still actuating. With pump/motor connector connected, connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and Gray wire at pump/motor relay connector. If pump motor operates, go to TEST 10C. If pump/motor does not operate, go to next step.
- Remove jumper wire. Disconnect pump/motor relay connector. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on Red/Dark Green wire at pump/motor relay connector. If reading is more than 9 volts, go to TEST 15A. If reading is less than 9 volts, repair open in Red/Dark Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1A.
