System Relay Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
- Using scan tool, actuate ABS relay. If ANTI-LOCK light on instrument panel switches on and off, go to TEST 16C. If ANTI-LOCK light on instrument panel does not switch on and off, go to next step.
- Remove ABS relay. See Figure. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between ABS relay terminals No. 30 and 87. See Figure. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, replace ABS relay. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on Red/Light Blue wire at ABS relay connector. If voltage is less than one volt, go to TEST 16B. If voltage is more than one volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check voltage on Red/Light Blue wire at ABS relay connector. If any voltage is present, repair short to power in Red/Light Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If voltage does not exist, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
