Checking System For Faults
- Using scan tool, read trouble codes. If scan tool is showing a blank message screen, go to TEST 18A. If scan tool is displaying NO RESPONSE message, go to TEST 17A.
- Press brake pedal, and check display on scan tool. If scan tool does not display proper reading of brake pedal, perform TEST VER-1B. If no trouble codes are present, turn ignition off and on. Using scan tool, read trouble codes. Monitor display for 4 minutes. If no trouble codes are present, perform TEST VER-1A. If trouble codes are present, go to next step.
- In some cases, cause of one trouble code may set additional trouble codes. If multiple trouble codes appear on scan tool, fault repairs must be performed in the order they appear in TROUBLE CODES table. If only one trouble code is set, perform indicated test for that trouble code.
