Antilock Warning Lamp Diode Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
  1. Turn ignition on. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not glow at start-up, go to TEST 3A. If ANTI-LOCK warning light glows at start-up, use scan tool to actuate ANTILOCK LAMP. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not flash, go to next step. If ANTI-LOCK warning light flashes, go to step 3).
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove ABS relay. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate ANTILOCK LAMP. If ANTI-LOCK warning light flashes, replace ABS diode, located behind right front fender shield. Perform TEST VER-1A. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not flash, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  3. Using scan tool, actuate SYSTEM RELAY. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not flash, go to next step. If ANTI-LOCK warning light flashes, ANTI-LOCK warning light circuit is functioning properly at this time. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. See Figure. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and CAB connector terminal No. 47 (Red/Light Blue wire). See Figure. If ANTI-LOCK warning light glows, go to next step. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not glow, go to step 6).
  5. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of Black wire at ABS relay connector terminal "E". See Figure. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ABS relay. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  6. Turn ignition on. Access ANTI-LOCK warning light diode, located behind right front fender shield. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and Light Green/Orange wire at diode. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not glow, repair open in Light Green/Orange wire between diode and body splice. Perform TEST VER-1A. If ANTI-LOCK warning light glows, go to next step.
  7. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and Red/Light Blue wire at diode. If ANTI-LOCK warning light glows, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire between diode and body splice. Perform TEST VER-1A. If ANTI-LOCK warning light does not glow, replace diode. Perform TEST VER-1A.
