Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
  1. Inspect left rear WSS mounting. If sensor is not mounted securely, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A. If sensor is mounted securely, go to next step.
  2. Inspect condition and routing of ABS wiring harness between CAB and left rear WSS. If wiring harness is damaged or routed incorrectly, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A. If wiring harness is okay, go to next step.
  3. Inspect left rear tone wheel for missing or damaged teeth. If tone wheel is damaged, replace tone wheel. Perform TEST VER-1A. If tone wheel is okay, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, erase trouble codes. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read trouble codes while wiggling left rear WSS wiring harness. If scan tool displays LR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CONTINUITY, repair wiring harness at point where code was set. Perform TEST VER-1A. If scan tool does not display LR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CONTINUITY, go to next step.
  5. With an assistant, road test vehicle while monitoring left rear WSS with scan tool. If speed of left rear wheel does not match other wheels, replace left rear WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A. If speed of left rear wheel matches other wheels, system is operating properly at this time. Perform TEST VER-1A.
