System Verification Test

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
  1. Disconnect all previously connected jumper wires. Reconnect all previously disconnected connectors. Reinstall all previously removed relays. Using scan tool, erase trouble codes. Turn ignition off and then on. Using scan tool, read trouble codes. If any trouble codes are displayed, go to TEST 1A. If no trouble codes are displayed, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. While observing brakelights, depress and release brake pedal. If brakelights are not operating properly, repair as necessary. Repeat TEST VER-1A. If brakelights are okay, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, select and monitor STOP LAMP SWITCH INPUT. If scan tool does not display OFF when brake pedal is released, replace CAB. Repeat TEST VER-1A. If scan tool displays OFF when brake pedal is released, go to next step.
  4. Depress brake pedal. If scan tool does not display ON, perform TEST VER-1B. If scan tool displays ON, go to next step.
    CAUTION: Ensure braking capability is available before road testing vehicle.
  5. Road test vehicle for a minimum of 5 minutes at speeds of 25-30 MPH. Perform several anti-lock brake stops. Using scan tool, read trouble codes. If any trouble codes are displayed, go to TEST 1A. If no trouble codes are displayed, ABS is operating properly.
