Entering On-Board Diagnostics

NOTE: While using DRB scan tool, if an error is made or technician is unaware of correct procedures, enter "F1" (Help) or HOW TO USE DRB from various menus.
  1. Before entering on-board diagnostics, refer to PRETEST INSPECTION . Turn all accessories off. Turn ignition off. Attach appropriate 1995 cartridge to scan tool. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure, Figure or Figure.
  2. Turn ignition on. Start engine (if possible). With foot on brake, move transmission shift lever through all positions, ending in Park (A/T) or Neutral (M/T). Turn A/C switch on then off (if equipped).
  3. Turn ignition off. Without starting engine again, turn ignition on. Enter No. 1, STAND ALONE DRB. Enter selection No. 1, CHRYSLER DOMESTIC. Enter selection No. 1, ENGINE. Proceed until READ DTCS selection is offered. After DTCs are accessed, go to TEST 1A - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS  to diagnose problem.
  4. To erase DTCs while in this mode, press BACK key. At scan tool display, scroll to YES - ERASE DTCS. A confirmation message should appear, DTCS ERASED.
