Test 114A - Traveler Distance Or Mileage Problem

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read PCM MONITOR. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to TEST 129A . If scan tool displays ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read ENGINE INFO. While moving throttle, observe TPS on scan tool display. If TPS percent does not change. If TPS percent changes, go to next step.
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Start engine. Place gear selector in Drive position (1st gear on manual transmission). Using scan tool, read ENGINE INFO. While tires rotate, observe VSS on scan tool display. If VSS signal (MPH) increases, circuit is operational. Retest system. If MPH does not increase.
