Test 117B - Intermittent Wiper Problem

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Turn ignition off. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right side kick panel. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Turn ignition on and go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Black connector terminal No. 17 (White/Black wire). With probe connected, slide wiper switch to each intermittent mode. If voltage is present in each intermittent mode, replace BCM. If voltage is not present in each intermittent mode, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect right pod switch. See Figure. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of White/Black wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 17 and right pod switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace right pod switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire.
