Test 39A - Right Brake Lamp Out
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:

article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
- Remove and inspect right rear brakelamp bulb. If lamp bulb is defective, replace lamp bulb. If lamp bulb is okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on brakelamp socket terminal No. 1 (Brown/White wire). Press brake pedal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Black wire between brakelamp socket and chassis ground. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Reinstall lamp bulb. Disconnect lamp outage module connector, located behind glove box and in front of A/C blower resistor. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Connect jumper wire between brakelamp outage module 14-pin connector terminal No. 8 (White/Tan wire) and terminal No. 9 (Brown/White wire). Press brake pedal. If brakelamp goes out, replace lamp outage module. If lamp does not go out, repair open Brown/White wire between brakelamp outage module and brakelamp socket.
