Test 41A - Faulty Brake Lamp Out Message

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Disconnect lamp outage module 5-pin connector, located behind glove box and in front of A/C blower resistor. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Start engine. Press brake pedal. If EVIC panel does not display BRAKE LAMP OUT, replace lamp outage module. If EVIC displays BRAKE LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Natural connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Natural connector terminal No. 15 (Light Blue/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Blue/Black wire between BCM Natural connector and lamp outage module connector for short to ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
