Test 52A - Tail Lamp Out

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Turn headlamps on. If all taillamps work, go to TEST 58A . If all taillamps do not work, go to TEST 63A . If all taillamps are not out, and EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, go to TEST 53A. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect lamp outage module 5-pin connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Connect jumper wire between lamp outage module 5-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Brown/Yellow wire) and terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Green wire). If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, replace lamp outage module. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between lamp outage module connector 5-pin terminal No. 1 (Brown/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, repair open Black/Light Green wire between lamp outage module and chassis ground. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  4. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. With connectors connected, connect jumper wire between BCM Natural connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, repair open Brown/Yellow wire between BCM Natural connector and lamp outage module connector.
