Test 59C - Headlamp Power Feed

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of Power Distribution Center (PDC) terminal No. 57 (top terminal of second fuse from right on bottom row, Red/White wire). See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Red/White wire between PDC and low beam headlamp relay for short to ground. See Figure. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Check resistance of low beam headlamp relay connector terminal "D" (Violet/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Violet/White wire between low beam headlamp relay center and low beam headlamp connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace headlamp system 40-amp fuse.
